Larch forests spread across much of the 4,900 acre Blue Mountain Recreation Area just outside of Missoula, MT. Though they are conifers, larches are deciduous trees that lose their needles in the Autumn. During Summer, however their fresh needles are bright green giving the forest a neon glow.
